On 3-6 November 2017, the22nd China Power Supply Society Conference was held in Shanghai and was successfully completed. The organizer and the sponsors brought an academic feast for the participants with the latest technology. Experts from different fields provided an in-depth explanation about the topics such as AC motor drive, virtual synchronous generator inverter stability analysis, lithium battery charging and control technology etc., they also shared the international top academic reports for everyone. The meeting had attracted a varity of people from domestic and foreign academic, industry and government departments.

ModelingTech was invited to participate in this academic event and brought the latest real-time simulation technology on FPGA. This technology can help users build HIL（hardware in the loop testing） system to test the controller of micro grid and power electronics system. ModelingTech demonstrated a closed-loop system consisted of two part:

  1. The control side is a rapid control prototype system. Using the software—— StarSim RCP which is developed by ModelingTech, the control algorithm of

      Simulink or LabVIEW can be downloaded and running on the NI PXI platform.

  2. The simulation side is the Hardware-in-the-Loop system. Using the power electronic model management software——StarSim HIL,  users can run the

      plant model of the power electronic system built in Simulink/SimPowerSystems on the FPGA hardware. Through the physical I/O, the simulation side

      and the control side could interact signals with each other.

This DEMO system attracted many college Scholars and experts, they showed great interest in the HIL and RCP systems, which can help them to demonstrate control algorithm and reduce cost while building up physical power electronics platforms. Most of them would like to seek for further cooperation and application in their research with ModelingTech.

Besides brought in our latest simulation technology in this meeting, we also learned a lot of new technologies such as electric vehicles, new energy and high speed inverter controller. Nowadays Technology needed breakthrough innovation, ModelingTech would keep focusing on the technology development, and provide users from different fields with the best researching and testing solution.
